Halal-certified Komugi offers more than 100 desserts for Muslim consumers
Komugi— a staple Japanese bakery in Malaysia— is certified halal by Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM), offering more than 100 mouth-watering desserts for all customers.
The bakery produces authentic Japanese products that emphasize natural, simple, fresh, handmade and premium ingredients to ensure utmost quality for Japanese pastry lovers to indulge.

Komugi ranges from savoury foods such as Fried Sausage Buns to sweet pastries like Fruit Danish, offering a variety of options for all customers’ needs.
Komugi in a statement said, its Central Kitchen has been recognized by JAKIM in January 2018 and obtained Hazard Analysis And Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification in February 2021.
Out of 14 outlets, the brand has 12 halal-certified shops opened including Pavilion Bukit Bintang, Midvalley, KL East Mall, Aeon Shah Alam, One Utama, Main Place, DPulze, Kuchai Lama, Melawati Mall, SS2, Wisma Conlay in Selangor and Aeon Nilai in Negeri Sembilan.
For the record, JAKIM’s Halal Malaysia Portal reveals that there are 13 halal-certified Komugi outlets, but one of the stores previously situated at Paradigm Mall has been permanently closed, resulting in only 12 outlets available for visit.

Kinihalal’s check through Halal Malaysia Portal determines that the bakery, wholly owned by Multiple Reward Sdn. Bhd, is halal-certified.
Aside from expanding locally in Kuala Lumpur, the bakery said it has also entered the international market with 15 franchising outlets opened in the Philippines in 2015.
“Komugi Japanese products are led by a team of experienced and passionate chefs behind the scenes and we bake everything daily to ensure our valued customers get only the freshest products.
“We aspire to make all customers smile on the first bite, while satisfying their needs with Japanese culture customer service,” the brand said.
